Bunkai: Pinan Yondan – Rear Throw Defense

This application in Pinan Yondan shows a defense against an attempted rear throw.

When finishing the preceding opponent, another opponent comes from behind you, attempting a rear throw.

As they attempt to pin your upper arms to your body you draw your shoulders together, making a gap.

You step across and turn inside the gap.

You use the rotation of the turn to project power through your back fist into the accessible target – mandibular angle, TW17, brachial plexus, mental nerve, etc.
